Psychotherapy Qualification
(CTA - Certified Transactional Analyst)
Following successful completion of the foundation year, plus three clinical years and 750 supervised practice hours and meeting other criteria set by the certifying bodies, students will be eligible to take their psychotherapy exam. Certified by EATA (European Association for Transactional Analysis), this leads to UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) registration.
Course Tutor: Leilani Mitchell, Mark Head (alternate years)
A minimum of 90 hours counselling skills training must either have been completed before starting this training or during the first three years of the course. Students are required to be in ongoing personal therapy throughout this period. Voluntary placements begin in year 2 and 3. Students are required to secure their own placement, although The Link Centre is happy to advise of local available options.
