The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become. Charles DuBois

TA101

(Two-day Introduction to TA - 12 hours)

Human behaviour and communication can be very complex and can easily be misread. This course helps students understand their own and others' motivation.

Transactional Analysis is a model for understanding relationships, communication and human behaviour. Created by Eric Berne in the 1950s (author of the best-selling book Games People Play), TA is now widely used in education, psychotherapy, management and many other areas.

This course will introduce some of the main concepts of TA including: life script, psychological games, ego states and transactions. We will look at how to relate these concepts to others and ourselves and identify alternative options for our behaviour and communication.

Course Tutor: Leilani Mitchell

Recognition: On completion students will be awarded an internationally recognised certificate by EATA (European Association for Transactional Analysis). This certificate is a necessary requirement for those wishing to enter into accredited training as a TA Practitioner.
