Diploma in Supervision (New course due to commence in September 2010)
The course is designed to offer participants from differing approaches an opportunity to experience supervising within their own approach and also the challenge of supervising those from a different approach. The course outline has significant emphasis on experiential learning and also recognising the many different areas in which practitioner’s work, e.g. working with children, addiction, social work, etc. There is also a focus on the relationship within supervision and what this means in terms of both the micro and macro applications of the supervisory process.
One of the key factors that ensures safety and protection of clients participating in the therapeutic process is the requirement of supervision. This, of necessity, is a wide and complex field of application, requiring the supervisor to be flexible and aware of diverse pulls upon each individual; this may include organisational perspective, private practice, managerial perspective, line supervision and many others.
The course will provide a set of assignments, which run parallel to the BACP requirements for accreditation as a supervisor. Unfortunately at this time the BACP does not accredit any supervision courses. The course will be delivered by Ibis Consultancy and a Link Centre Diploma in Supervision will be awarded on successful completion of the course. Handouts will be provided.
