Counselling and Psychotherapy

At The Link Centre, we deliver counselling training courses online and in-person at various levels. We offer counselling skills courses and a combined counselling and psychotherapy training course, which has various exit points to ensure students gain the learning and qualifications they want.

By delivering in-person and online counselling and psychotherapy courses, we’re able to support students to complete their own learning journey and give them qualifications that hold weight in the market. Our aim is to develop ethical, competent and skilled professionals through counselling and psychotherapy courses that can lead to national and international recognition and endorsement. Our tutors are all qualified and experienced and use a wide range of teaching methods to facilitate the best learning and development for every student.

Counselling and Psychotherapy Courses

Exam Preparation / CPD Group (Online) – 6 days

6 day of Exam Prep / CPD TA Training. An ongoing group to support students on the final leg of their TA journey and a collegial environment that will give challenge, motivation and focus to achieve whatever your goal might be.

Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and/or Certified Transactional Analyst(Psychotherapy) Level 7

For those wanting to gain an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and/or a Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) CTA which gives access to  UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) registered Psychotherapists. This qualification (Certified Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist) is also endorsed by EATA (European Association for Transactional Analysis) and has international as well as national recognition.

Diploma in Counselling (Level 6)

For those wanting to qualify with a level, 6 accredited Diploma in Counselling and be registered on a PSA (Professional Standards Authority) voluntary government register for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Certificate in Basic Counselling Skills (15 or 30 hour course)

This 30 hour course is for those who have had no previous training in counselling skills or who those want to re visit the basic concepts of active listening. We will introduce ideas such as reflection, summary, paraphrasing and confrontation as well as Carl Rogers ideas around empathy, congruence and acceptance

Intermediate Counselling Skills

This course is for those who have a basic knowledge of counselling skills and want to build their competence and confidence. Tutor / Participant ratio will allow a focus on the developmental level of each participant. These skills can be applied in a wide range of contexts.

Advanced Counselling Skills

This course is for those who have a competent level of counselling skills and want to refine these further, building on what they already know. We will deepen skills, explore working at depth and experiment with working with couples and working with groups.

How to become a Counsellor and/or Psychotherapist

2nd September 2022 – 6.30pm to 7.30pm (GMT)

A 1-hour talk to help in navigating the minefield of different theories, training providers, costs and qualifications to qualify as a counsellor

Link Centre Open Evening – Live Online

A monthly live online open evening for you to find out about our part-time counselling and psychotherapy courses.
