What do therapists need to know about the brain and the body whilst working clients? Interpersonal neurobiology gives us a scientific framework to consider interventions and enhance our treatment planning; as well as a greater understanding into our clients experience of life. Interpersonal neurobiology focuses on how relationships interact with the brain and the body to create who we are.
This highly experimental training invites participants to get to know their own bodies further, in order that they can better attune to their clients’ moment to moment experience. Participants will come away with practical tools and a new perspective to consider what happens in the therapy room.
We will look at brain function and development; how relationships effect brain structures; polyvagal theory; attachment; affect regulation; and the neurobiology of trauma.
We will be covering the work of Dan Siegel, Stephen Porges, Deb Dana, Babette Rothschild, Louis Cozolino, Allen Shore and Pat Ogden among others
It will be delivered online, interactively, using Zoom.
A Link Centre Certificate will be provided at the end of the course.
