Certificate in Working with Gender Diversity – Part 2 (online)

This on-line course delivered in four half days is only available to participants of the June/July 2020 Certificate course in Gender Diversity.

Building on the initial 12 hour course where we developed a basic understanding of gender diversity, terminology, gender dysphoria and transition, these sessions seek to deepen our understanding as practitioners.

Workshop aims and learning outcomes

  • Understand the key concepts of gender as a construct
  • Consider the impact of non-traditional gender presentations for society
  • Pushing the boundaries: men giving birth
  • Working with neurodiversity
  • Working therapeutically with Transgender clients using case study material
  • Working with a couple where one partner is transitioning
  • Working with the partner of a transitioning client

The course will be the same format as part one, a mixture of didactic teaching, experiential learning, reflective discussion and small group work.

Tutor: Liza Heatley is a UKCP registered Psychotherapist with an MSc in Psychotherapy and is an internationally endorsed trainer and supervisor (PTSTA, P) Liza is based in Devon, and works for the West of England Gender Identity Clinic and in private practice. She has presented workshops and seminars at the World TA Conference in Berlin; EATA conference and at various UKATA Registered Training Establishments throughout the UK. She is also a member of UKATA’S Diversity and Social Responsibility Committee and is a core tutor at The Link Centre,
