Jazz Rehal
Jazz is an individual, couple and family group psychotherapist, corporate psychotherapist working in the banking and tech industry, academic tutor and supervisor with over ten years’ experience working extensively but not exclusively with generalised and health anxiety, burn out and stress, depression, addiction, trauma and domestic abuse. Jazz’s core training is in Transactional Analysis (MSc), preceded by a 30-year background in the corporate world.
Jazz pays attention to power dynamics and the ways in our cultural narrative and intersectional identity can shape and barrack individuals. Her philosophy is that human beings are born into groups, live in groups and the need to belong is a powerful, fundamental, and pervasive motivation of primitive human cultures. She holds the view that the person is comprehensible only within a relational matrix and draws on relational practise to support her work.
Jazz loves teaching with a focus on story-telling and believes in advocating for change one person at a time starting in the classroom and the therapy room. She believes every one of us has the capacity to live a more fulfilling life, to have relationships in which we can accept ourselves, others and the circumstances of our lives and also to contribute to the good of the collective.
