Neuro-Affirming ADHD Couples Therapy: Therapeutic Themes and Interventions

We invite you to explore our workshop series, “Neuro-Affirming ADHD Couples Therapy: Therapeutic Themes and Interventions” designed for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists interested in enhancing their practice. This series applies a classical Transactional Analysis lens to the principles of the Gottman Method, focusing specifically on couples where one or both partners have been diagnosed or identify with the ADHD neurotype.

Learning Goals

Understanding Neurodiversity

Using a Transactional Analysis and systemic lens, participants will deepen their understanding of ADHD and appreciate the significance of a neuro-affirming approach in therapeutic work with couples.

Classical Transactional Analysis and the Gottman Method

Participants will learn to apply the principles of the Gottman Method through the framework of classical Transactional Analysis, gaining insights into common therapeutic issues as well as applied interventions.

Focused Learning Sessions

Participants will engage in three sessions exploring therapeutic themes specifically relevant to couples navigating ADHD themes, with case studies, role play illustrating practical applications.

Skills Development

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in role-play exercises, case consultations, and an interactive Q&A, aimed at equipping them with effective strategies and insights.
