Gill Dawson

I am passionate about counselling and psychotherapy and love the work I do. I really enjoyed my learning journey which was all via The Link Centre and I now have a thriving part time private practice.
The rest of my time is spent with my partner, and our two dogs touring around in our motorhome. I love drawing, painting, sewing, F1, reading and researching, I have two grown up children who are both adventurous and I love following and supporting them in their travels and personal goals.
This work is very different from my previous career as a management accountant (working within the large animal veterinary sector). In truth I was always more interested in building and developing teams than I was in producing management accounts, so it came as no surprise to my friends and colleagues that I eventually decided on a career change. I have recently been involved as a skills observer and assignment marker at the Link Centre and have really enjoyed supporting students in their own learning journeys. It’s a privilege to now have this opportunity to work alongside the core tutors to assist in the delivery of the learning and to continue in supporting students to have the best learning experience.
